Things have been pretty good down here. This week has been a super good week. My companion and I had planned for this last week to go to the temple and do an outside tour and talk about what the temple is and why it's so important with our investigatores and the investigatores in the zone. It turned out so good! Johan and Hermano Jose went, as well as Irvin. They all loved it!
Me, Johan, his dad, Hermano Jose and Elder Torres at the temple.
Irvin's girlfriend, who introduced him to the chruch, Irvin, me, Elder Torres, Hermano Jose and Johan.
Our Zone and all the investigators that showed up for our special temple trip. Thirty investigators!!
Irvin is still being the most prepared investigator ever. He is still 200 percent prepared for his baptism on the 30th. He reads the pamphlets we give him PLUS the extra scriptures on the back part of the pamphlet. He's so awesome.
Familia Roncal are slowly progressing. Out of the whole family, Johan is the most interested. He basically moves the family, which is awesome. We´re still working on the Day of Rest thing with their restaurant. We had a super good lesson planned on that to help them for yesterday but Hermano Jose got sick so we decided to wait. Rosita sang in the primary program and had a part in it too which was soo cool to watch! Absolutely adored that.
Us with Rosita and Johan after the Primary program.
With Dany, we challenged him to a week before for his fecha (baptism date) and he accepted. We´re still trying to help him get there. We want him to act a little more and have a greater desire. We were pretty direct yesterday because he failed us coming to church. His friends came and got him to go running then talked him into playing fútbol instead of going to church.. He´s 16 though so it's understandable. We´re just trying to help him understand the importance of it all.
We found ANOTHER "Inka Kola" this week. Her name is Eileen. A less active introduced us to her. She is super interested and actually wanted to come to the temple activity but couldn’t because of work but came to see Elder Greer's baptism to see how a baptism works. So yeah, that’s how the investigators are doing.
We´ve basically left the poor part of our area to work closer to the church. The work is slower because we are working with the members more but it’s a LOT more efficient. The stats show more people get baptized and stay active when they are a reference from a member.
Anyway, this week I bought 3 big bananas because I was hungry. When I was eating my second one I peeled it too far. I took one bite, looked away and when I looked back.. my banana was gone. It had fallen to the ground. It was probably the saddest moment of this week.
I was on an interchange with elder Heredia this week. We knocked on this guy's door seeing if he knew where someone lived. He told us no and as we turned to leave the crazy dude starts going “SON FALSOS! SON FALSOS!” (THEY ARE FALSE! THEY ARE FALSE!) Hahaha we started dying! Actually a super funny moment.
Apart from that, it's been a super good week. We made some awesome plans for the next two weeks for Christmas with the Zone. Today is gonna be LIT! We´re going to do a White Elephant activity, play some games, eat pizza and cake, and play volleyball as a Zone. WITH our new Zone Christmas shirts.. gonna see what they are. They're AWESOME!
Oh! Also my companion is a wizard! He was singing the “Cheerleader” song… “Oh, I.. think I fooound myself a cheeerleaderr”, so he started singing that out of the blue one morning. We went later to go buy some stuff at Pro Mart (basically Peruvian Home Depot) and that song comes on!! Literally haven’t heard that song the entire time I've been here, and the one day I hear it, my companion already had it stuck in my head in the morning.. pretty nuts.
But yeah, that’s pretty much it for this week. Hope you guys are enjoying the snow if there is any.. Love you guys and hope you have a great week!
